As the Mountaineer nation prepares for another year of Appalachian football, the athletics department and Yosef Club are excited to announce gameday accommodations and changes for the 2008 season.

As many of you know, we have seen record breaking growth in not only our new facilities but in funds raised for the Yosef Club in support of student-athletes. We above all want to thank all of our Mountaineer faithful for your continued support as we all experience these growing pains. With your help, the Yosef Club has recruited over 2,200 members this year and has raised over two million dollars. Season-ticket sales are at an all-time high of over 10,000 and the new facilities construction continues to advance with increasing excitement. We are looking forward to welcoming each of you to “The Rock” on September 6, as you will see the progress of our new home for Appalachian athletics.

Within the next few weeks, Yosef Club members and season-ticket holders will receive parking permits, season tickets, game day guides and important information for your use this season in an all-inclusive mail piece. We wanted to address some of the exciting additions we have in parking and tailgating this season as you receive your information packets. We hope this information will be helpful in navigating campus on gamedays.

Parking:
Due to the overwhelming support of the Yosef Club this year and the overall teamwork of University administration to support gameday parking for Yosef members and students, additional parking lots have been secured for members at different levels. The following lots are listed with the map below:

A. Stadium Lot: $2500 Level and Above
B. Justice/CAP Lot: $1500 Level
C. Duncan Lot: $1500 Level
D. Raley Lot: $1500 Level
E. Student Rec Center (SRC): $1500/$1000 Levels
F. Greenwood: $1000 Level
G. University Drive: Young Alumni Program Members
H. Rivers Street Parking Deck: $500/$250 Festival Parking
I. Library Parking Deck: $250 Festival Parking
J. JET LOT: Yosef Special Guests
K. Legends Lot: Young Alumni Program Members

Tailgating Policy

Yosef Members at the $1000 level and above are guaranteed a numbered reserved space in the designated lot for each annual giving level and assigned based on your rank within the Athletic Points System. Members at the $500 and $250 membership levels will receive festival parking privileges in either Rivers Street Parking Deck or the Library Parking deck. Parking permit assignments for these parking decks will be based upon giving level and point rank as well. Festival Parking permit holders will be assigned one of the two decks to park in for the season. We recommend you arrive early to obtain the best parking space in your assigned parking deck.

RV Parking (Correction):
Due to the Greenwood lot now being a Yosef Member lot for $1000 members, there will be no RV Parking in this lot for the general public.

Handicapped Parking:
Handicapped Parking for patrons with valid state-issued disability parking tag, is provided at the Holmes Convocation Center for each game. Shuttles are provided from this location to the stadium for our patrons with disabilities and their families and/or caregivers. Early arrival is recommended. For more information on handicapped parking, please visit www.TailgateattheRock.com.

AppalCART:
AppalCART provides an extension of many of their normal routes on gameday to accommodate traffic concerns affecting the entire Boone area. Fans arriving are encouraged to locate an AppalCART stop for an easy ride to the game. For route information, visit www.appalcart.appstate.edu.

Public Parking:
Public parking is limited on campus on gamedays. Fans are encouraged to arrive early. Spaces are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Public lots can be located on the exterior of campus, in the town limits and county lots. A quick and efficient way for the general public to access games will be through the AppalCart Transit System. Visit www.appalcart.appstate.edu for game day schedules. Most on campus parking is reserved for Yosef members and students. For more information on how to join the Yosef Club, please call 828.262.3108.

Mountaineer Walk:
Fans at Kidd Brewer Stadium line the path as they give the Appalachian Football team one final pat on the back during Mountaineer Walk, approximately 3 1/2 hours prior to kickoff on home gamedays.

Join the ASU Cheerleaders and the Marching Mountaineers at the tunnel exit, where they will be waiting to give the team a loud boost as they make their way in between Newland and Trivette Halls, and on into the stadium parking lot.

Make as much noise as you can while cheering on the Black & Gold as they prepare for another Gameday At The Rock!

CLASS – Champions Love Appalachian State Spirit:
“Today I Give My ALL For Appalachian State” is the foundation for ASU athletics and the University as a whole. Together, Appalachian administrators and students have developed an initiative to encourage first-class conduct at all Appalachian athletic events.

We all share in the responsibility of promoting good sportsmanship at games and ensuring that past, present and future Mountaineers learn the positive nature of supporting our teams.

“CLASS” (Champions Love Appalachian State Spirit) - gives us a mechanism to guide all external friends of the University that will lead to a positive and enthusiastic “game day” atmosphere. Athletics director Charlie Cobb emphasizes that, “we want everyone to understand their role in creating a home-field advantage, but more importantly, realizing the responsibility we all share in representing Appalachian State University.”

C Clean Up After Yosef! Take pride in our beautiful campus and leave it better than when you arrived.
L Let your actions represent the best of Appalachian State. Alcohol is a privilege during tailgating at ASU and not a right.
A Always be positive in your support of our team, coaches and players. And wear your black and gold.
S Show respect for our visitors and game officials. Cheer loudly, but with appropriate language.
S Show respect for yourself and fellow Mountaineers – especially young fans.

The main goal of the CLASS program is to promote sportsmanship at all of our events, educate everyone on the benefits of a positive and united message for our student-athletes and to give our all for Appalachian State.
