BOONE, N.C. — For the second day in a row, Appalachian State University’s football practices focused more on brains than brawn on Friday.
Appalachian practiced in the morning and afternoon, but both sessions were conducted in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts and contact was limited, especially outside of the offensive and defensive lines. In the absence of all-out hitting, the Mountaineers concentrated on a lot of situational work during Friday’s workouts, particulary in the afternoon.
Thursday’s and Friday’s less-physical practices were also in anticipation of Saturday, when ASU will hold its first intrasquad scrimmage since reporting for fall camp a week ago.
Saturday’s scrimmage is
closed to the public, but a full report and exclusive photos will be available by Saturday evening at
GoASU.com. Next Saturday, August 22, fans will have the opportunity to witness the Apps’ final intrasquad scrimmage before the season opener at East Carolina when ASU holds its annual Fan Fest at Kidd Brewer Stadium. For details, click
