BOONE, N.C. -- Appalachian State men's cross country is ranked 13th in the latest USTFCCA Southeast regional poll, the association announced Monday.
The Mountaineers dropped two spots in this week's poll despite a strong third place finish in last Friday's Blue Ridge Open at the Don Kennedy Trail in Boone. Sophomore Sean Soderman led the way at the Blue Ridge, placing 10th overall out of 154 runners with a time of 25:28.42 on the 8k course. Senior Josh Houser turned in a time of 25:35.71 to place 13th, and freshman Burk Staub clocked in at 25:51.59 to claim 24th place.
The Mountaineers will be off until October 31, when they travel to Elon, N.C. to compete for their fifth consecutive SoCon title.
