BOONE, N.C.-- Appalachian State women's cross country will travel to Elon Saturday, in search of their first Southern Conference championship since 2004.
The Mountaineers return five runners from last year's fourth place squad, in addition to freshman standout Brittney Caudle who is favored to take home the individual title this year.
Caudle posted the fastest 5k time in the conference this season with a mark of 17:40.38 at the Blue Ridge Open October 16. The Middletown, Md. native was also named SoCon runner of the week twice and Runner of the Month for September. Caudle is followed by Anneli Uys of Chattanooga, Chloe Kowalski of Furman, Andrea Seccaffien from Samford, and Western Carolina’s Jordan Gaddy.
Fans who are unable to attend this year’s championships will be able to follow the action via live web stream for the first time on SoCon.TV on the Southern Conference web page.
