BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University will host an NCAA Division I Football Championship selection announcement viewing party on Sunday at Legends, located on Hardin Street on the ASU campus. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. with the bracket for the 16-team field to be announced on ESPNEWS between 3-3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Appalachian (8-2, 7-0 SoCon) has already secured a spot in the 16-team field by virtue of clinching no less than a share of its fifth-straight Southern Conference title with a 27-10 victory last Saturday at Elon. The opponent and location for ASU’s first-round game, as well as the road it must navigate to win a fourth national championship in five years, will be unveiled during the selection announcement.
Head coach
Jerry Moore and members of his team will be on hand for the viewing party, as well as ASU cheerleaders and representatives from the University Bookstore, who will be selling exclusive Mountaineer gear.

EDWARDS LISTED AS DAY-TO-DAY: Quarterback
Armanti Edwards, who sustained a right knee injury in the first half of last Saturday’s win at Elon, is officially listed as day-to-day by ASU’s medical staff.

During his weekly media teleconference on Tuesday morning, head coach
Jerry Moore said that “everything looks pretty good right now” with regards to Edwards’ status for Saturday’s game versus Western Carolina.
