BOONE, N.C. — A celebration of Appalachian State University football’s fifth-straight Southern Conference championship will be held in cunjunction with Appalachian’s pivotal basketball doubleheader on Jan. 23 at the Holmes Center, when the ASU women host Davidson at 1 p.m. and the men battle archrival Western Carolina at 3:30 p.m.
The day kicks off at noon when a host of Appalachian football legends will sign autographs for fans on the Holmes Center concourse. ASU’s first nine SoCon title teams will all be represented during the one-hour autograph session, including 2005 national-championship quarterback
Richie Williams and the school’s all-time leading rusher,
Kevin Richardson.
From 2:30-3:30 p.m., members of the 2009 Mountaineers will be available for autographs and photos on the HCC concourse. An on-court ceremony honoring the SoCon champs will be held during halftime of the ASU-WCU tilt.
