Wrestling to Put Winning Streak on the Line at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Appalachian State University wrestling heads to The Citadel with a four-match winning streak as they take on the Bulldogs at 2 p.m.

Appalachian comes into the match with an overall record of 6-8 and 0-1 in the Southern Conference while The Citadel is 4-4 overall and 1-3 in the SoCon.

Kyle Blevins leads the Mountaineers with 17 wins and is currently on a seven-match winning streak. The sophomore has five major decisions, four coming during his winning streak. Savva Kostis is second on the team with 16 wins and leads the Apps with seven pins. Sophomore Austin Trotman is also on a seven-match winning streak and was named the SoCon Wrestler of the Week last week.

The Citadel is led by Odie Delaney, who comes in with 19 wins, 14 of those wins coming by pinfall. Kevin Timothy and J.C. Oddo are tied for second on the team with 12 wins.

The Mountaineers return home after the match to host the first annual Appalachian Open on Saturday, Jan. 30 beginning at 9 a.m.
