A new-look Appalachian State men's basketball team will get started today with its first practice for the 2012-13 season.
The Mountaineers have two seniors on their roster — guard Jamaal Trice and forward Nate Healy — and have eight additions, including wing player Jay Canty, who sat out last season after transferring from Xavier.
"We do have a lot of new faces," said Jason Capel, who will start his third season as ASU's coach. "I can't sit here and say what our results are going to be right now, but this is a team that I think will be a close team, will work hard and will continually improve.
