BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's tennis completed the opening day of the ASU Fall Invitational on Friday at the Varsity Courts, highlighted by a 7-1 record in doubles action on the afternoon.

Senior Ellie Linsell continued her dominance throughout the fall season as she tallied a singles victory in Singles Flight 1 and, while paired up with freshman Mackenzie LaSure, notched two victories in Doubles Flight 1.

Also finishing the day with three wins were senior Jennifer Ansari, junior Jessica Thaggard and sophomore Gabby Gabriel. Thaggard and Gabriel teamed up in the doubles round to total two victories in Doubles Flight 3.

The Apps close out the ASU Fall Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 27 with play beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Varsity Courts.
