BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University women's basketball returns home for its first conference matchup against SoCon foe Georgia Southern on Monday at 6 p.m. at the Holmes Center.

The Mountaineers (5-1) are riding a four-game winning streak after closing out an overtime thriller at Xavier, while the Eagles (1-3, 0-1 SoCon) dropped a 49-61 loss to Davidson on Saturday.

Series History
• The Mountaineers are 15-33 all-time against the Eagles, and have won the last two meetings of the series.
• Appalachian State is 5-16 when facing Georgia Southern in Boone, and is 2-3 in the last five games played in the High Country.
• The Apps won a series-high 3 games twice in the history of the series (1995-97, 2005-07) while the Eagles' longest winning streak in the series was 14 games from 1995-2005.
• Appalachian picked up a 64-45 at-home win against GSU last season, along with a 57-46 victory when the Mountaineers traveled to Statesboro.

• Georgia Southern enters Monday's game after a 49-61 loss to conference rival Davidson.
• The Eagles have lost both of their road games this season, against Kent State (48-73) and Davidson (49-61).
• MiMi Dubose leads GSU in scoring, averaging 15.5 points-per-game.
• Anna Claire Knight and Meredyth Frye follow in scoring with 10.0 and 6.5 a game, respectively.

Looking Ahead
• Following Monday's game, the Mountaineers will have two-week break before heading on a four-game road series starting with East Tennessee State on December 18. 
• The Apps will then head to West Virginia on December 28, followed by trips to Davidson and Furman.
