LEXINGTON, Ky, - Appalachian State University women's track team earned five top-ten finishes in the Kentucky Invitational this weekend at Nutter Field House.
Senior Amanda Hamilton paced the Black and Gold for distance runners as she placed sixth overall in the 3,000 meter run, crossing the line at 9:48.20, while Maria Stickley finished second overall in section three of the 3,000 meter run with a personal-best 10:35.88.
App State earned an eighth place finish in the 5,000 meter run as junior Kayla Schneider ran a personal-best 18:21.97.
Junior Cassie Crawford led the way for Appalachian in field events as she garnered a fifth place finish with a 3.65m jump in the pole vault and Chelsea Farr placed ninth overall in the pole vault with a 3.65m jump.
App State will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 1 when they travel to Winston-Salem to compete in the JDL Invitational. The meet is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
