BOONE, N.C. - Fresh off a successful fall season with a young Mountaineer squad, Appalachian State University women's golf will compete in seven spring tournaments, second year head coach Heather Brown announced on Wednesday.

The championship season opens on March 1 in Buies Creek, N.C. as the Apps compete in the two-day Campbell University Spring Intercollegiate.

From there, the squad heads south on I-95 to play in the Butler Intercollegiate on March 8-9 in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Mountaineers then return to the Low Country Intercollegiate on March 22-23. The tournament is held at Moss Creek in Hilton Head, S.C. ASU placed 12th at the event last season.

Another familiar tournament for Appalachian will be UNC Wilmington's Lady Seahawk Intercollegiate at The Landing in Wallace, N.C. on March 22-23. Jordan Kreuter was the top Mountaineer in last year's event, in 54th place.

Appalachian then takes on Gardner-Webb in the annual University Cup on April 3 at Mimosa Hills in Morganton, N.C. Last year, ASU fell 5.5 to 4.5 in the event.

The Apps then co-host the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate with Western Carolina on April 5-6. Last year, ASU placed fourth in the tournament as Brooke DeHart led the team in eighth place.

The season wraps up at the Southern Conference Championship at Moss Creek on April 18-20, where ASU looks to improve on last season's ninth place finish.
