Field Hockey Drops First Round NorPac Matchup

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Appalachian State field hockey fell 9-0 in a first round NorPac Conference Tournament game to No. 15 Stanford Thursday.

Midfielder Xanthe Travlos posted a hat trick, including two goals in a four minute span in the first half to push the Cardnial to a 4-0 lead as the teams went to intermission.

Cardinal midfielder Katherine Donner led the second half attack for the Cardinal, scoring two of Stanford's five second-frame goals.

Appalachian struggled to generate any offensive momentum against the Cardinal, and were outshot 46-2 for the game.

Sophomore goalkeeper Bridgette Street posted 19 saves on the day to bring her season total to 213.

The Apps will face Pacific in a consolation round game tomorrow scheduled for 2 p.m. ET start.
