The game remained 2-0 until the 40th minute of play when junior Jennifer MacNeill scored the lone goal of the match for Appalachian, heading the ball into the back of the net off a cross from teammate Caroline Lowe.
The Demon Deacons answered, notching their third goal of the game right before halftime, to take the 3-1 lead into the break.
ASU was able to hold off WFU's offense until the 72nd minute, when Sarah Winslow beat goal keeper Caroline Clarke off the dribble to score her second goal of game. Just three minutes later, the Demon Deacons were on the board again as Lebo put the ball in the net off a cross.
With two minutes left, Winslow tallied her third goal of the game, giving her a hat trick and sealing the 6-1 win for Wake Forest.
