Men's Golf Moves Into Second at Mission Inn

ORLANDO, Fla. - Casey Johnson shot s two-under 69 on Saturday to move into second place at the Mission Inn Intercollegiate while Appalachian State University men's golf carded a 295 (+11) on the day to improve to a tie for second place as a team.

The Mountaineers stand at 588 (+20), tied with host St. John's and 15 strokes behind Florida Gulf Coast. FGCU's Daniel Mazziotta maintains the individual lead with a two-stroke advantage over Johnson, at 68-70-138 (-4).

ASU's Dustin Hudson remains tied for fifth place at 71-73-144 (+2) while Lance Wheeler is 20th at 72-78-150 (+8).

Jacob Eggers shot a 75 to go along with his opening-round 79 for 35th place at 154 (+12) and Josh Nichols is 52nd at 83-79-162 (+20).

The third and final round begins Sunday morning.
