LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Appalachian State women's cross country placed 22nd out of 35 teams at Saturday's Southeast Regional Championship.

Duke University scored 69 points to take the regional title. The Blue Devils easily outdistance ACC rivals Virginia (113 points), and NC State (135 points) to claim the championship.

The Mountaineers were led by SoCon Runner of the Year Brittney Caudle, who placed 16th overall. The Middletown, Md native turned in a time of 20:58 to pace Appalachian.

By virtue of her top-20 finish, Caudle picked up all-region honors to cap a freshman season that has already seen her claim a Southern Conference title and SoCon Freshman of the Year honors.

Other top Appalachian finishers include junior Katie Booker, who finished 82nd with a time of 22:30, and freshman Sarah Williamson who turned in a time of 23:09 to finish 131st overall.
