BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University men’s soccer’s
Arie Muniz was named to the third-team NSCAA All-South region team, the NSCAA announced Tuesday.
The honor caps a solid four-year career for the Texas native, as he was named first-team all-Southern Conference as well. The senior led the team in goals with six, and in points with 16. It was the second-straight year he led the team in points.
As Muniz went, so did the Mountaineers. When he registered a point, ASU was 5-2 and went he was held in check the Apps were 3-6-1.
Muniz earned his second-straight first-team all-Southern Conference honor in 2009 and was named all-conference three times in his career. He finished his career with 20 goals, 16 assists, 56 points and four game-winning goals.
The Mountaineers finished 2009 with an 8-8-1 record and a fifth place finish in the Southern Conference. The Apps lose just two seniors, Muniz and
Kenny Orelaja, ride a four-game winning streak into the 2010 season.
