LYNCHBURG, Va. – Appalachian State men’s track and field will be in action this weekend in Lynchburg, Va., as they head north to compete in the Liberty Open.
This year’s Liberty Open is expected to feature high-quality competition at the Tolsma Indoor Track Center. The 2010 lineup features 16 collegiate teams and numerous post-collegiate athletes, including past Olympians, past NCAA national champions and a candidiate for the 2010 Bowerman.

With the SoCon Indoor Championships looming less than a month away, Coach John Weaver’s squad will look to continue to make improvements this weekend as the indoor season begins its home stretch into February.
The 500m run, 1000m run, and heptathlon are on the event schedule for the first time this season, which will give the Mountaineers a chance to see where they stand in a handful of new events this weekend.
The Liberty Invitational is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m. Friday, and will conclude Saturday night. Check GoASU.com for a recap of Friday’s action.
