by Appalachian Sports Information November 28, 2007 - DETROIT — Appalachian State University’s historic season-opening win at Michigan, capped by Buck Buchanan Award candidate Corey Lynch’s field-goal block as time expired, is one of 13 finalists for the 2007 Pontiac Game Changing Performance of Year award, Pontiac announced on Thursday. Appalachian fans are urged to click here to vote for the Mountaineers each week and help ASU win a $100,000 donation from Pontiac to the University’s general scholarship fund. Each of the college football season’s Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Week winners are in the running for the grand prize. Voting begins Thursday, Nov. 29 and each of the next three Thursdays, the previous week’s lowest three vote-getters will be eliminated until the top-four finalists are announced on Dec. 20. Voting for the top four will continue until January 7, when the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year and winner of the $100,000 prize will be announced on FOX.
