Mountaineers Haul in April Awards

BOONE, N.C. — Members of the Appalachian State University athletics family hauled in a plethora of awards at separate ceremonies in late April. Mountaineer football legend Dexter Coakley, “Ms. Yosef” Julia Adams and former soccer standout Bobby Martin all received Appalachian Alumni Association Awards on April 25 at the Broyhill Inn and gridiron standout Corey Lynch, volleyball all-American Brittany Zahn and ASU’s football team took home Western North Carolina Sports Awards on April 27 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville.   Full Story

ASU Athletes, Coaches and Staff to Participate in Celebrity Serve 2008
Boone, N.C. - Appalachian State University student-athletes, coaches and athletics staff will participate in the 2008 edition of Celebrity Serve on Tuesday, April 8 to benefit the High Country Soccer Association. The event will help the Field of Dreams fundraising campaign that is raising money to build the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex on Brookshire Road along the New River. Celebrities will fill-in as servers at participating restaurants and donate all tips to the HCSA. Full Story
