(Back to Coach Index) Amy Herrington, Head CoachAlma Mater: Eastern Kentucky, 2003 Years at ASU: First Season (Fourth overall) After two seasons as assistant softball coach at Appalachian State University, Amy Herrington, was promoted to associate head coach head coach on September 28, 2006. The promotion came after the Mountaineers assembled their most successful season in school history with a 29-30 record and a deep run in the Southern Conference Tournament. Herrington, who works primarily with the hitters and position players, has seen numerous players under her tutelage set new school records. Herrington came to Appalachian after serving on the coaching staff at Florida State in 2003. She helped guide the Seminoles to a fifth-place finish at the Women’s College World Series, along with Atlantic Coast Conference and NCAA Regional titles. She and the entire Seminoles coaching staff were honored as the 2004 Southeast Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. Herrington competed as a student-athlete at Eastern Kentucky and was a member of the Colonels’ 2002 Ohio Valley Conference regular-season and tournament championship team. She was named to the OVC’s all-conference first team as well as the league’s all-tournament team in 2002, along with earning second team all-conference accolades as an infielder in both 2000 and 2001. A native of Olympia, Wash., Herrington married Jonathan Woodard, who was also a standout student-athlete at EKU, in the summer of 2006. (Back to Coach Index) | STANDINGS
