![]() Q: I heard there was there was a new way to do Student Ticketing for Athletic events. Is that true? A: Yes, it’s true. It’s called the Mountaineer Maniacs Loyalty Program. Appalachian State University students will require a ticket to enter a home athletic event that there is a charge for (Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball and Volleyball). Just go to GoASU.com to get started. Q: Is there a charge for the student ticket? A: No. Admission is still free to all athletic events for Appalachian State University students who pay student fees, but in order to gain entry for a Football, Men’s or Women’s Basketball game Baseball game or Volleyball match, you will need a ticket. It’s easy to do and you can print it off in your dorm room, your apartment, any computer lab on campus, the ticket kiosk outside the Athletic Ticket Office in the Holmes Convocation Center, any computer on the planet and even your Uncle Herb’s Commodore 64 that’s locked in the attic. Q: Why switch to a new system when the old one worked just fine? A: Convenience is one of the main reasons. In years past, if you wanted to purchase additional guest tickets, you had to go to either the athletic ticket office or the student union prior to game day to purchase those tickets. Now you can secure your ticket and purchase student guest tickets from any computer, print them off and have them in-hand in minutes without leaving your room. Additionally, it also provides a layer of security for us and for you, making sure that only currently registered Appalachian State University students who pay student fees are receiving tickets. Q: How do I log on to request, claim and print my ticket? A: Go to GoASU.com, go to the pull down menu for TICKETS and select ONLINE TICKETING. This will take you to the TicketReturn.com website and select STUDENT TICKETING. Use your student ID number as your username and guest as your password. You will be prompted to change your password then. Follow the prompts and print your ticket when you are finished. Q: What’s in it for me? A: One of the new things implemented with the Mountaineer Maniacs Loyalty Program is the awarding of loyalty points. Attending games will build your loyalty point total. Loyalty points will be important if there is a high demand, low supply ticketed event such as the National Championship game or an NCAA tournament appearance. Instead of instituting a lottery, the students with the highest point totals will have the first crack at those tickets. Plus there are other incentive prizes for those loyal students who rack up loyalty points. For a more complete look at the Mountaineer Maniacs Loyalty Program point system, check out the Student Ticketing Document to the left of the screen. Q: Will my loyalty points transfer from year to year? A: Not 100 percent. To make it as fair as possible to every student, only 10 percent of your loyalty point total will carry over from year to year. (Ex: If you accumulate 30 loyalty points in 2007-08, your starting balance for 2008-09 will be 3 loyalty points.) Q: How secure is the website? A: TicketReturn.com is extremely secure. The Athletic Ticket Office uses the same system to handle season ticket holders and non-student ticketing needs everyday. Neither TicketReturn.com nor the Appalachian Athletic Ticket Office store credit card numbers and all transactions are encrypted. Q: What if my tickets don’t print? A: If you cannot get your tickets to print at the computer you are working on, you may be able to print them at another location or you may come by the Athletic Ticket Office and we can print them for you. Q: What if I forget to get my ticket the week of the game? Can I still get one the day of the game? A: Yes, but you will still need to get a ticket. For Football, student tickets will be available the day of the game from the Athletic Ticket Plaza at Kidd Brewer Stadium. But you will not receive any loyalty points in your account. Student Paid Guest tickets are not for sale on Football Game days. All student paid guest tickets must be purchased by 11:59 pm the day before a home game. For men’s and women’s basketball games, student tickets may be picked up at a ticket location at the Holmes Convocation Center but again you will not receive any loyalty points. Q: Where is the student entrance for Football games? A: It’s in the same place as it was last year. You will still enter the student gates on the far right of the West Side of Kidd Brewer Stadium. Your ticket will be scanned at the gate and the loyalty point will be assigned. In order for the loyalty point to be added to your account, YOUR TICKET MUST BE SCANNED AT THE GATE. Q: Is there a student entrance at the Holmes Convocation Center? A: At this time, there is not a designated student entrance at the Holmes Convocation Center. That is subject to change as we continue to look for improvements to help people move in and out of the building efficiently. For the 2007-08 basketball season, you may enter either of the four entrances with your student ticket. Q: Has the seating changed for Football games? A: No. You are allowed to sit in the student section on the West Side of Kidd Brewer Stadium until it fills up. Overflow seating for students is the Southside hill under the scoreboard. If you sit in a reserved seat either on the West Side or the East Side you will be removed from the Stadium and could lose loyalty points or student ticketing privileges. Q: Are other Universities using this student ticketing system? A: Yes. Student ticketing is being adopted by most of the major universities in the country. Universities modify the system to fit the specific needs of their facilities and students. To name a few using the same system we use: Maryland, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Georgia Tech, NC State, West Virginia, William & Mary and others. | NEWS HEADLINES MULTIMEDIA
