Assistant Coach Kolby O'Donnell

Years at ASU: First season



O’Donnell joined Cheryl Stinson in the assistant role in February 2008 after spending the past two years as an assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator at Radford. While working with the Highlanders, he managed game-day operations, in-season travel and development of practice plans.

Ginipro commented, “I'm very happy to have Kolby join the App State Volleyball program. I got to know Kolby about a year ago and realized that he was going to be a talented young coach. After working with him during our summer camps, I knew that he would be an asset to any program and that is why he was the first person I thought of when our assistant search began. His personality meshes perfectly with mine and Cheryl's and he is ready to push App State Volleyball towards SoCon championships.”

A native of Pennsylvania, O’Donnell was the camp director for Appalachian State’s volleyball camp in the summer of 2007, and has worked with several other camps in the region since 2003.

O’Donnell graduated from nearby Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, where he was a four-year letterman and captain of the men's volleyball team.

The Mountaineers finished 14-4 in the Southern Conference in 2007 and 19-14 overall. The team returns eight players for 2008 and has already signed two players.
